James A. Emanuel reads his poem "Emmett Till" (1963) in Paris on July 25, 2011 when a guest to Janet Hulstrand's American literature class "Paris: A Literary Adventure." Emmett Till was a 14-year-old boy who was mordered by white men for allegedly whistling at a white woman in Mississippi. This video was filmed by Gary Lee Kraut with permission of the poet.
