Diane Reeves | Berliner Philharmoniker | Ravel meets Gershwin
The Berlin Philharmonic, under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle and with the Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves, usher in the New Year in style. In this gala concert, they present a programme of music by three of the twentieth century's most famous composers: Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré and George Gershwin. Interwoven with a series of classic Gershwin songs, including the ever-popular ''S Wonderful' and 'Embraceable You', are orchestral pieces by Ravel and Fauré, including the latter's Pavane and the former's La valse and the second Daphnis et Chloé suite.
George Gershwin: Overture to 'Strike Up the Band', 'Foggy Day', 'By Strauss', 'Embraceable You', ''S Wonderful', 'How Long Has This Been Going On', 'Nice Work If You Can Get It'; Gabriel Fauré: Pavane; Maurice Ravel: La valse, Daphnis et Chloé (Suite No. 2)
